Things to do - Take a walk

Ynys Llanddwyn

Just off Anglesey’s southern coast, is the magical island of Llanddwyn, surrounded by beautiful secluded sands.

Parys Mountain

South of Amlwch, Parys Mountain was the site of heavy copper mining which gives it 
it’s unique landscape.

Porth Wen, Amlwch

Site of the historic disused Victorian brickworks, now a crumbling ruin to explore.

Newborough Forest

Spot red squirrels at one of the places to see them in the wild.

Anglesey Coastal Path

A 200km footpath that traces the entire coast of Anglesey.

Traeth Dynion, Amlwch

Holyhead Mountain

Bryn Celli Ddu

Step back to the Neolithic times and discover Bryn Celli Ddu, an ancient burial mound, one of Wales’ famous Neolithic passage tombs. It is around 5,000 years old.

Beaumaris Castle

Built as part of Edward I’s campaign to conquer North Wales in 1282 AD.

Llynon Mill

The only working windmill in Wales, grinding oats, wheat and barley.

Watersports

Dive right in with some island watersports. Take a powerboat trip around the coast. Or take it up a notch and take a RIB ride, one of the most popular activities on the island. Reaching speeds of over 80mph, this is not for the faint-hearted.

Nine Standards Rigg
This is a fell walk that takes you to the summit of Nine Standards Rigg, which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The walk is about 10 miles long and is considered a moderate to difficult walk

Lady Anne's Way
This is a 12-mile walk that follows the route of Lady Anne Clifford, a 17th-century noblewoman who inherited a large estate in the area. The walk takes you through beautiful countryside and historic villages

Ravenstonedale is a short drive or can be 4 mile around trip walking. There are two excellent choices there. For a Fine Dinning experience we recommend The Black Swan, or a fantastic pub next to the river with a more casual atmosphere, there is The Kings Head;

  • Kirkby Stephens is a great little market town thats got plenty to offer in terms of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants.
  • There’s a superb local deli, Berry Grape and Grain. Great for wine and local cheeses. A must visit.
  • The White Hare cafe is a favorite as well. There are local butchers and bakers that are selling local foods.

There are two micro pubs that specialise in craft ales. The La’L Nook is a great place to sample local beers and friendly faces. The Old Gorge is another little gem that on occasions becomes a micro cinema for max of 18 people showing the latest blockbuster movies.
